take sby out (v) pay for somebody to go somewhere with you
e.g. Just because you took me out to dinner it doesn’t mean I owe you money. 
tear up (v) rip into pieces
e.g. Just because you tear up your homework doesn’t mean you will pass your class. 
tear off (v) rip off a piece of something
e.g. Just because you tear off all the paper doesn’t mean you don’t have to clean it up. 
think over (v) consider
e.g. Just because you have to think over your decision for a long time doesn’t mean you will be right. 
throw away (v) dispose of
e.g. Just because we threw away our clothes doesn’t mean we get to buy new ones. 
turn into (v) become something/someone else
e.g. Just because you turn into a mean person when you’re hungry doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt my feelings. 
turn down (v) refuse
e.g. Just because you turned down the job doesn’t mean they won’t give it to someone else.
